– an Ethereum standard, specially called the Ethereum Request for Comment 20, which standardizes how tokens are created and issued on the Ethereum blockchain.

The majority of all tokens traded are ERC20 tokens. To date there have been over 200,000 ERC20 tokens created on the Ethereum Mainnet.

Almost all coins coins have been built this way..
